Crib Recalls

There have been numerous crib recalls over the years from all manufacturers and for a variety of different reasons. Some have rails that may not latch properly, or the bars on such railings may be just far enough apart to present a hazard, as well.

The most recent recall of baby cribs comes from the manufacturer Jardine, and focuses on baby cribs that were sold specifically at Babies ‘R’ Us outlets. Past crib recalls include Simplicity brand, Delta, Storkcraft, and more. Many of these are drop-side cribs, where one side unlocks and folds down. The problem is that these sides can drop open on their own, allowing your child to fall out and possibly become injured.

If your crib has been recalled, you have two options. Of course you can either return it to the manufacturer for a full refund; but if your child has been injured, you should save the crib for evidence and contact the law offices of Healy Scanlon Law Firm to receive the legal guidance.

If injuries do result from a defectively manufactured crib, you may have a products liability claim against the manufacturer. Because time is of the essence, you should consult with an attorney immediately if you believe you may have a claim. If there are any questions, feel free to call 312-226-4236.
